DRM issues aside, Spore seems to be doing alright. And by "alright," we mean "over a million copies."
Not bad for a controversy-filled first two weeks. Of course, that number counts PC, Mac, and Nintendo DS versions of the game. The DS version is completely different, eschewing the "sim-everything" mentality of the full game and just focusing on the creature-creation mechanic.
In addition to those impressive sales, over 25 million different made-up life forms have been uploaded to EA's "Sporepedia." That figure includes hideous beasts made with the Creature Creator put out for download before the game's release.
