Promises to return to the basics of what makes Star Fox an excellent space shooter.

What's so special? This will be Nintendo's first handheld appearance of the Star Fox franchise and they plan to take full advantage of all the features the DS has to offer.

Developer track record: This will be Q-Games first game made; however, the team was formed by Dylan Cuthbert who developed the original Star Fox titles and has even worked on some of those "ducky" demos for Sony that we see at E3.

The Star Fox series of games have always been a lot of fun; though the more recent games have been a let down to say the least. Starting with Star Fox Adventures the fun factor declined dramatically but Star Fox Command for the DS promises to return to the basics of what makes Star Fox an excellent space shooter.

The game will feature at least 15 different playable characters all with unique personalized ships that have different features. Star Fox Command will also feature 30 free-roaming arenas (twice as many levels as Star Fox 64 had) instead of being on rails like all of the levels in the SNES Star Fox. Now for the unique features that are only possible on the DS: first and most important full touch screen control! This works by moving the stylus around on the radar screen which controls how your Arwing or other type of ship moves.

The touch screen will be used to perform loop the loops and other maneovours.

Boosting is done by double-tapping the screen and using your brakes is simply a matter of double-tapping the bottom part of the touch screen. To pull off a loop-de-loop or a u-turn you tap a button on the side of the touch screen, and to set off bombs you drag the bomb icon on your radar screen where you want to detonate it and release, setting off the explosion. Your normal lasers are controlled by the shoulder buttons L or R or you can even use the D-pad. (or X, Y, A, B for left-handed people).
