In the build I played, Mario Hoops 3-on-3’s three-dimensional graphics were at least as good as any Nintendo 64 title. The vibrant colors of the DS Lite enhanced the game’s bright color palette, giving it a cartoony feel perfect for a Mario title. Something about the presentation felt not quite polished, but that is to be expected from a preview. Unfortunately I could not hear any of the game’s sound on the crowded convention floor, but I would expect the standard Mario fare of bright, cheery music.
All in all, Mario Hoops 3-on-3 is shaping up to be a top-notch DS title. The demo version I played was a blast, and the game can only get better and more polished before its September release.
