Developer Cing Inc. further reinforces the crime fiction feel of the game by having the action take place in a manner that requires players to hold their DS vertically like a book.  In this manner you will play the game almost exclusively by utilizing the touch screen and stylus.  Through this simple touch screen interface players will grill characters, search for clues and solve puzzles.

Explore the rooms of Hotel Dusk at your own risk.

At the very least Hotel Dusk: Room 215 should deliver a unique and original experience for those looking for something new.  Its gameplay harkens back to the days of PC adventure games such as Myst or The 7th Guest.  Wrap all of this in a hard-boiled detective story and Hotel Dusk: Room 215 has the potential to be so much more.

In fact the key to this game's sucess will rely heavily on the quality of the story.  This could also be the games biggest downfall since it is made by a Japanese developer, and their storylines can sometimes get lost in translation.  On the same note these foreign storylines can sometimes translate very well and offer an original narrative on what could otherwise be a rehashed version of the same old story.  I am betting we will be pleasantly surprised when the game is released for the Nintendo DS on January 22nd.

The sketch animation gives Hotel Dusk a unique look.
