Does Agetec’s Pictionary inspired party game make us laugh out loud? Find out in our review.

LOL is a hard game to review. For one, it’s not really a game at all. It’s really nothing more than a glorified Pictochat that comes with a suggestion of how you should play it. In addition to that, my experience with the game will differ entirely from your own experience since we don’t have the same friends. You see, LOL is a “game” where your enjoyment will stem entirely from the group of people that you play it with. If you have a group of friends who are creative, have a great sense of humor, and have a little bit of artistic talent, you’ll likely have a great time with LOL.

Basically what you’ll find in LOL is a game that is loosely based on the board game Pictionary. At the start of each round, one person comes up with a topic for the rest of the players to draw, write, scribble, or do whatever they want. There are no real rules to the game, just a framework. After everyone finishes drawing, everyone’s pictures are revealed, and each player proceeds to vote on which one they think is the best, funniest, most creative, again it’s up to you to decide the criteria for voting. Each player has three votes to give and can even vote for themselves. The player with the most votes wins the round, a new leader is selected, and you repeat the process.

Outside of a small minigame that has you tapping fast moving black creatures as they speed along the touch screen while you wait for everyone to finish drawing, that is pretty much the entire game. There is absolutely no single player component and no Nintendo Wifi compatibility. This is about as bare-bones as a video game can get.

That isn’t to say that there isn’t fun to be had from LOL. As mentioned earlier, if you play this game with the right group of people, it could potentially be one of the best times you’ll have playing a multiplayer DS game. The fun to be had here isn’t with the game itself, but in the reactions it causes with the people around you.
